I love it when people say they are a home owner. On the contrary. The home owns you. Especially when it requires the TLC to keep the home safe, secure and value added. Time has finaly caught up to the homes in our development where some weeks our neighborhood looks like a version of the Oprah Winfrey Show. "You get a roof and you get a roof and you get a roof". You will see a variety of vendors on the street. Some well advertised and some "no names". Talking with folks it seems like price is at the top of their list when making a decision. Times are tough and prices are not coming down and now you have to balance what you can afford with quality. This past spring I had a number of shingles blown off our roof. Initial inspection shows they are paper thin and are "end of life". A local guy made repairs but I knew it was time to replace the roof. Lucky for me a neighbor on our street whose profesional career was as a structionl engineer had done a considerable amount of vetting and selected New Look Exteriors to replace his roof. The individuals I worked with at New Look Exteriors are excellent. Devon provided me with a honest and thorough inspection of the attic. With the current physical plant - ridge vents and sofitt venting - of the attic Devon tells me I can do without the attic fan. This is great news because attic fans have a short life and can become a fire hazard. Devon also provided me with two different financial opitions. One basic and a basic +. Upon signing my agreement - I selected the basic + - I spoke with Josh the site planner and Project Manager to schedule the roof replacement, arrival of the dumpster, material and crew. Josh also confirmed the removal of the attic fan. We discussed preparing the home and grounds - flowers, shubbery and mailbox - from any damage as well as clean up. Scheduling was also confirmed by Celeste in the business office. The staff is very accessable and communicates very quickly. The day of the roof replacement went as planned and Josh was there just about the whole time. This was a six man crew that worked very efficiently and with purpose. I am confident this is a solid investment to protect our home and investment. We have a 10 year warranty from New Look Exteriors on workmanship and labor and a 50 years warranty from Owens-Corning on material defects. New Look Exteriors came out to look at a leak situation I had following the heavy snow in January. They braved the crazy snow still on my street to take a look and provide a solution. The quote was really reasonable, covering my flat roof, gutters, and downspout. I had a few conflicts with initial installation dates, but they worked with me to get out as soon as possible. Everyone was very kind and professional. The team did a great job cleaning up/leaving no evidence they were there. I received updates from Josh throughout. After everything was done, I was asked several times if I was completely satisfied with the work, which I appreciated. Staff were great and easy to work with including Josh, their project manager who has great communication skills and the office administrative assistant Celeste was great as well.. The job took four hours and their cleanup concluded the next day. The roofers teamwork resulted in their efficiency and it was their second completed roof the same day. I had new gutters and an attic fan installed, they were efficient, did great work and clean up. The problem was lack of communication. I had to call 1-2 times for an update and was told they they would call 1-2 days before doing the project. I discovered the crew for the gutters on my roof several weeks later. No call, text, knock on the door or email , also didn't tell me that another crew would do the fan. After 1 1/2 months and another call to the office I finally had the fan installed. They have a very responsive and nice team. Would use them again. I specifically wanted the window placed at the right height to allow for the kitchen countertop site to act as the windowsill. New Look Exteriors delivered on this request and fixed the interior and exterior walls to look great. They worked with me to allow me to get the exact window that I needed to match the rest of the house. We had storm damage from the 4/29/25 storm. Josh, Brian, and the rest were super great in working with us and being super helpful. The crew worked hard to get it done and then did a superb job with clean up. Very thorough going over the yard and landscaping multiple times to ensure they got as many nails, staple, and debris as possible. They even cleaned up part of my neighbors yard to ensure nothing would affect them.
